BORMIO

AND AROUND

SPORT AND RELAX

Bormio is a village in the heart of the Alps and one of the best known ski and thermal resorts of northern Italy

Its past is a glorious one and the independence the county of Bormio enjoyed until a few centuries ago offered the town the possibility to grow and develop economically. In the last century Bormio's tourist industry grew and is now a strong source of work and fulfillment. Bormio now offers numerous mountain recreational activities to be enjoyed in winter and summer.

WINTER SEASON

Alpine and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, freestyle and many other activities characterise wintertime in Bormio. The ski resort hosted the 1985 and 2005 FIS Alpine World Ski Championship and the famous Stelvio slope now hosts important World Cup races every year.

Bormio offers a series of exciting activities for those who want to take a break from skiing. The activities include ice skating, snowshoeing in the woods, sleddog, sledge and shopping for local products in the historic centre.

SUMMER SEASON

Summer offers an enchanting and relaxing landscape. Visitors can discover the many trails over medium sized and high mountains of mount Vallecetta, San Colombano, the Ortles Cevedale group and the valleys of Valdidentro.

Nordic walking and mountain biking on mountain trails, cycling along the major mountain passes Gavia, Stelvio, Aprica and Mortirolo, playing golf on a 9 hole course surrounded by high mountains, swimming in the thermal baths and summer skiing on the Stelvio glacier.

These are just some of the activities to enjoy during your stay in Bormio!
